Kris and I always wonder HOW in the world we get along so well together. From the very beginning, we seemed to be two totally different people, with completely opposite personalities... We are the living proof that opposites really do attract. And get along. And get married, and still be in love almost 5 years into the marriage. :D
One of the things that has always been a mystery to me is the fact that Kris NEVER (well, in the last 7.5 years we've been together) reads a same book twice. What?!? I could never comprehend that about him. Me? I'm all about good book re-runs. I love reading good books again and again. I have a couple of books in the bathroom that I've read a gazillion times (Little Women!), and several others that I read when I get bored, or when I want to re-visit.
Right now I'm reading The Dragon Riders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey again. I've read that a half dozen times, but it's always so good. It puts my mind in the world of Pern, and I can read the good parts again, and I can skip the boring parts. She has many books in that series, and I've read a good chunk of them. Several of the good chunk, I've read many times. Reading the same books over and over again, you're bound to find mistakes in the plot. I've found some in the first three books of Pern... Which is okay. But I have to wonder if the author ever goes back and reads her books, and goes, "What?? Why did I write that? That doesn't make sense!"
Some books I've read several times and still enjoy:
Merlin/Arthur trilogy by Mary Stewart, Memoirs of a Geisha, Harry Potter, Twilight, Garden Spells, First Drizzt triology by R.A. Salvatore, Temeraire series, Wheel of Time, Gone with the Wind, and many more...
