Somehow I'm falling behind these surveys. A part of it, I think, is that the weeks are now more blurred, while as at the beginning, I counted every day going by. I think I feel more secure in the pregnancy now, so I obsess less about the passage of each week. Good in a way, I think.
Past couple weekends have been busy. Two weekends ago we were in Arkansas for Grandpa Cole's 80th birthday. He's doing alright, and Grandma looked okay too. Her arm, that she injured a while back (she had to get 17 stiches for a cut she got from falling on a broken glass bowl), looked awful, but it also seemed to be healing nicely. Grandpa didn't feel up to going out, so the whole family got together and made roast for dinner, and it was absolutely delish! Got a wonderful spinach salad dressing recipe from Grandma, and stuffed me and the baby with tons of food. :)
Last weekend we went down to Dallas, and had really good visit with several people. Grandma and Grandpa Vandy, of course... And my brother! We picked him up from the airport, and went to see the Duncans, who were his dorm parents for three years. (having one set of dorm parents for three years? a HUGE blessing! I think I've had 7 or 8 over 6 years or something... But that's another story.) I had never met them before, and they seemed very nice, loved having dinner with them. And on Saturday, we met up with the Sunarjo's, who we really were there for. The Sunarjo's are an extension of our family almost - they were Seung ri's host family for years and years. Awesome people, who now live in Switzerland. The visit went incredibly well, and I was so glad to have Kris finally meet them. (and Swiss chocolate from Aunt Doris to boot!)
This weekend, we're hoping to stay home and get some things done around the house. I've been really trying to be better about making dinner and stuff, and trying to keep the kitchen clean. My house is ALWAYS a mess, (I swear there's a tornado that goes through the house while we're gone during the day) and this really needs to improve before our Little One arrives!!
Kris has gone on sort of a "diet", he's decided he's fat... I personally really dig a little bit of... chub, ^^ but he really doesn't like it. So he's been getting up in the mornings, eating oatmeal, and exercising and/or stretching. Whether he looses weight or not, I think it's a fantastic habit, so I am rooting for it to become a routine. I love that he is taking initiative to change what he perceives to be a problem.
How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:
I'm assuming 22-23lbs, I'm pretty faithful about gaining at least a pound a week...
Maternity clothes?
Yep. Maternity pants and summer dresses.
Stretch marks? I dunno. I don't look.
Sleep: Pretty good still. Thank God.
Best moment this week:
Just being able to hang out with people I haven't seen in ages. Love it.
Movement:
Every day, especially in the mornings when I'm dozing, and in the evenings after work when I stretch out on the couch and put my feet up. And the Baby also is responding to Kris' voice, it seems! LOVE IT.
Food cravings: My protein craving's finally gone away, I think. Nothing special.
Gender:
Not sure / not telling. :)
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks once in a while. Dear Braxton Hicks: Just in case I don't make myself clear, I hate you.
Belly Button in or out? In. But really stretching out.
What I miss: My mom.
What I am looking forward to:
Getting the nursery done. If it ever happens.
Weekly Wisdom: Caffeine in moderation. I dig sweet teas and Fraps.
Milestones: Finally looking pregnant to strangers. I have had four or five strangers in about a week comment on my pregnancy. Oh, and just FYI, I think in the last week or so, my belly size has doubled or something! Over the weekend I noticed how much bigger my belly has gotten. Very strange. Maybe I finally "popped"?
