37 Weeks. It's hit me hard, in the last couple of days, that Kris and I only have 2 more weekends, just us. My parents are coming in Oct. 6, so we have this weekend, and next weekend. It's really really hit me hard. I feel blessed with a marriage I really enjoy, and life sucks sometimes, but Kris and I always pull through together, and we really enjoy each other's company. Well, it's really not easy to come to terms with the fact that we will only be just the two of us for two more weeks. It's been a long ride together, but I've cherished it so much... I just can't believe that this phase of our life is over, and I've been grieving. I'm sure once the baby gets here, we will love it, and I hear other moms say "I wonder how I lived without you" kind of thing. But I also think it's okay to feel sad about all the changes that will take place. So here I am, mourning the passing of a wonderful era together.
I've also been really down, because I feel like we didn't get to go on a babymoon, or anything like it. Just the two of us, before the baby. I really thought Paris was going to be our thing, but that ended up not being the case, which was disappointing. There just hasn't been enough time (with the business and all), or sometimes the money, to just go away for a couple of days. And now, I feel like we've run out of time, with only two weeks ahead of us. That has been making me really sad... Well today, Kris took me out on a surprise dinner date to Tulsa. This was wonderful, because:
- We love car trips together. We have lots and lots of fond memories of being in a car together during college, traveling back and forth Siloam Springs and OKC... Stopping in Tulsa, getting lost, (which helped me loosen up, I used to get really nervous getting lost, or being late.) exploring side roads, etc. We spent hours just talking, hanging out, being together, reading, and just loving each other's company. So getting out of town, even for a short while, is great.
- He took me to a French restaurant - the next best thing to Paris! :) I thought it was so thoughtful. He wanted to do something special, since we missed going to Paris. We went to The Brasserie, and the atmosphere was great, the service was awesome, and the food was fantastic. We spent two hours just enjoying the evening together, and I will remember it for a long, long time.
How far along? 37 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: 35 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes, although even the maternity tank tops are getting too short, I have to constantly pull it down to cover the bottom of my belly.
Stretch marks? I should really take this question out of the survey.
Sleep: Better than last week. Still not fantastic. On a positive note, we got our master bathroom toilet fixed this week, so I don't have to walk as far to pee during the night.
Best moment this week: Lots happened this week - we fixed our toilet, shower, drain, garage door, cleaned chimney, and received my first batch of diapers. But the BEST moment was this evening - my wonderful darling husband took me out for a surprise date. It was amazing.
Movement: Lots still.
Food cravings: None.
Gender: Not sure / not telling. :)
Labor Signs: Still BH contractions.
Belly Button in or out? Top half is sort of out, bottom half is flat.
What I miss: Walking around without pain.
What I am looking forward to: My parents get here soon!
Weekly Wisdom: Go do something, just the two of you.
Milestones: Getting the house fixed up, cleaning, hubby fixing the glider, prepping the diapers! And I think I'm considered full term. :)
