36 Weeks

Today is 36 weeks.  A milestone of sorts, according to our OB - she said that babies born after 36 weeks generally don't even have to stay in the hospital. :)  I skipped 34 weeks, which was a big milestone for us - babies born at 34 weeks have almost 0% chance of having any sort of long term complications.  So, we've hit both milestones, and we are so much more relieved.

I have, however, made the mistake of being on the Bump again.  It's one of those things...  Being on the boards, you most often hear about the bad cases, the worst case scenarios.  You don't hear about the normal, healthy cases.  One of the girls lost her baby at 39 weeks and 4 days.  3 days before her due date...  She went into her routine doctor's appointment, the doctor couldn't find the heart beat...  Went in for an emergency ultrasound, and found the baby dead with no amniotic fluid.

Can't imagine.  So every day, I've been subconsciously monitoring our baby's movements, tracking it fairly closely.  Sigh.  I guess this insecurity probably will never go away, even when the babe is here.  I have to always remember and remind myself that everything is in God's hands.  It's difficult, when I'm so wanting, needing, to control.  It's extremely difficult to let go.

How far along?  36 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss:  Mm, I honestly forgot what I weighed at the doctor's last week.  But tragically, I've been gaining like gazillion pounds a week, even at 3rd tri.  Sigh.  Double sigh.
Maternity clothes?  Yep.  Maxi dresses are wonderful!!
Stretch marks?  Probably.
Sleep:  It's been pretty bad this past week.  I've been having tons of back pain, and my front pelvic area is extremely sore when I turn in bed.  AND, I think maybe the baby's dropped a bit, because my bladder is getting smooshed.  AND, my left middle finger freezes up in the middle of the night, very sore, and it pops when I bend it.  Really weird.
Best moment this week:  Ooh...  This week hasn't been so good, it was a rough rough week, physically and mentally.  Last couple of weeks though, we received our car seat, cleaned the house a bit, etc.  We're slowly getting ready.
Movement:  Lots.  Thank the Lord.  Lots of hiccups after meals, usually.
Food cravings:  None.
Gender:  Not sure / not telling. :)
Labor Signs:  Just BH contractions, which are getting longer and harder.  Not quite painful, but it's right there.
Belly Button in or out?  Top half is sort of out, bottom half is flat.
What I miss:  Sleep.  Most definitely.
What I am looking forward to:  Getting my body back.  With what feels like SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction), extremely swollen feet and ankles...  Man, I'll enjoy getting back to my own body!
Weekly Wisdom:  Sigh. I'm not sure if I have any wisdom left!!
Milestones:  36 Weeks.  Awesome. :)  Also, got through Breastfeeding and Baby Bootcamp classes.
