Fatherhood

So last night was a doozy!  I think we've hit Lacey's first "growth spurt" because she kept Ju and I up and feeding her almost ever 1 1/2 - 2 hours last night.  It's amazing how much she can eat, she's so tiny!

I will say that fatherhood seems a very odd thing still.  The entire concept feels kind of fleeting, and as though it's not really REAL yet, but Alaise is amazing, and I love just holding and rocking her for as long as possible.  I'm really enjoying the baby phase, I guess I didn't see that coming.  Most guys, I think, kind of shy away from babies.  I always have.  They seem so fragile and when they're not yours, you're afraid of breaking them.  That and I think that Lacey's a pretty big baby, much larger than most "infants" I've seen, so she's just... not less fragile, but perhaps she just seems more "sturdy".  That and WOW is she strong.  Anyway, the point is that I'm really enjoying this phase and it has totally surprised me.

With that all said, I must admit that I am REALLY looking forward to the toddler phase, where we can start verbally interacting beyond cooing and crying.  Of course that's a year + away yet, but I look forward to it with great anticipation.

:-D

I'm really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one today.
